Seven Years of Germ Gems: Thank You for Growing With Us

Seven years ago this month, in July 2019, Germ Gems began as a simple idea: to bring you timely, trustworthy news from the fascinating and sometimes frightening microbial world. Today, 367 posts later, we're filled with gratitude - and more than a little wonder - that we've reached this milestone together.

When we launched this weekly blog, we hoped to share a lifetime's fascination with the microbes that shape our lives. Some are our enemies, causing disease and suffering. Others are quiet allies, essential to our health and living peacefully on and within us. Every week, the microbial world offers up something new, and every week, we're thankful you've been here to explore it with me.

So as we celebrate this anniversary, feel free to leave a comment - tell us what you think about Germ Gems, maybe what you've learned, a post that stuck with you, or simply say "hello." Let's celebrate seven years together!

Here's to the next seven, and to the endlessly surprising world of microbes!

With warm thanks,

The Germ Gems Team

I love Germ Gems! It provides understandable macro explanations of the microscopic world around and within us and why it's important! It is always clearly thought out, researched and written. Not too long, not too short. Almost every post should go viral! Congratulations...7 MORE YEARS!...7 MORE YEARS!...7 MORE YEARS! 🦠💎

I have been reading Germ Gems for 4 years. It is a great read. Keep up the good work! You could consider syndicating this work to health sections of national news sources!

Thank you! I very often forward your articles to my whole family with a note to believe what you have written rather than anything else they may read on social media.
